Shannon Valentine – Snyder (born Shannon Lee Wilshe) was three years old when Santa Claus brought her a hobby horse. Shannon rode the hobby horse so hard and long that she got saddle sore. She would take her naps on the hobby horse with a pillow and that was the beginning of Shannon's love affair with horses.

Shannon was given her first small horse at the age of 4 by her aunt. Her aunt, an avid rider in her own right, took Shannon under her wings until 9 th grade. While attending St Pius X High School, in Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania Shannon got her first thoroughbred horse and started English riding lessons. Her instructor was Susie Beale, daughter of British Event Team members, Gillian Beale and Major Jeremy Beale. Susie Beale is an International Event Rider and an accredited instructor for the British Horse Society. With Susie as her instructor and mentor Shannon joined Pickering Hunt Pony Club (founded in 1954) and is part of the United States Pony Club Eastern Pennsylvania Region. Shannon competed in Hunter/Jumper, Eventing, Dressage and Saddle Seat Classes. Among the many Pony Club clinics Shannon attended, one stood out to her. That was the clinic given by Torrance Watkins, former Equestrian Olympian and member of The United States Eventing Hall of Fame. During this time Shannon rode at Radnor Hunt and met other former Equestrian Olympians like Phillip Dutton, Denny Emerson and Steeple Chase rider, Douglas King.

Shortly after graduation, Shannon left her home state of Pennsylvania and moved to Florida so she could ride year round. There she met her husband, Leslie D. Snyder, III and started her family. Before her third daughter could walk, the bug came back with a vengeance. Shannon started Western Riding to broaden her skills. She competed in such classes as Pleasure, Trails, Halter Showmanship, Cutting and Barrel racing.

In 2003, Shannon and family moved to Golden Gate Estates, in the Everglades of Florida. There she established Soapstone Farms, (the name she inherited from her grandfather in 1989) a full board, training and lesson business. She rehab, retrained and resold horses during this time. She acquired several competition horses but faced many difficulties with her horses living in an environment riddled with insects, sand, heat and a tropical rainy season. Thrush and rain rot became a major issue along with the flies. Because of her children, Shannon was always looking for something organic that would work. Her father, Donald Wilshe developed BioBased Products for agriculture. His wife, Suellen worked with Shannon and they started experimenting with her father's product and developed a by-product that is 100% organic for animals and safe enough for children. www.OrganicHorses.us was born and the rest is history.

Shannon is currently a member of the United States Dressage Federation, United States Eventing Association and an active Fox Hunter.
